Third Sunday of Ordinary Time
The Ninevites heard the preaching of Jonah and repented of their evil ways, thus experiencing the Lord’s compassion. Do we repent when we hear the preaching of Jesus? Do we invest our lives in the world rather than in God’s kingdom?

St. Rose Parish officially came into existence in 1940. It was originally the chapel of St. Patrick's Home for Children, built in 1932 (hence the small size). It was also named in honor of St. Rose of Lima and was the first Catholic Church in Sacramento (1849). Today our parish celebrates 14 masses every Sunday, each with a "full house." Along with this, we also celebrate weekday masses, sharing our church with St. Patrick's Academy, adult religous education (R.C.I.A.), and youth religous education (C.C.D.).
