When offered the choice between true knowledge or riches,
Solomon prays for wisdom of heart. When given the choice
between following Jesus or remaining attached to his material
wealth, the man chooses his possessions. God’s word challenges
us to be attached to Jesus, and to him alone.

St. Rose Catholic Church
St. Rose Parish officially came into existence in 1940. It was originally the chapel of St. Patrick's Home for Children, built in 1932 (hence the small size). It was also named in honor of St. Rose of Lima and was the first Catholic Church in Sacramento (1849). Today our parish celebrates 14 masses every Sunday, each with a "full house." Along with this, we also celebrate weekday masses, sharing our church with St. Patrick's Academy, adult religous education (R.C.I.A.), and youth religous education (C.C.D.).
