The Ascension of theLord
Jesus commissions his disciples to baptize in his name,
reminding them that he is always present through his Spirit. Having ascended to his Father amid cries of gladness, we are to be his witnesses for we have been gifted with his Spirit of wisdom and revelation. Let us, therefore, live in a manner worthy of the call we have received.

St. Rose Parish officially came into existence in 1940. It was originally the chapel of St. Patrick's Home for Children, built in 1932 (hence the small size). It was also named in honor of St. Rose of Lima and was the first Catholic Church in Sacramento (1849). Today our parish celebrates 14 masses every Sunday, each with a "full house." Along with this, we also celebrate weekday masses, sharing our church with St. Patrick's Academy, adult religous education (R.C.I.A.), and youth religous education (C.C.D.).
